Home Theatre
A home theater system today is much more than speakers and a TV. Choosing the right room and design layout are just as important as the speakers, TV, and sources of audio and video. Everyone has an idea of what they want their home theater to sound like.

Understanding the products available can help you design your own system to get exactly the sound you are looking for. This also allows you to better control the cost of your system. All home theater installations are considered custom installations, so remember that anything is possible.

Typical home theater systems consist of 5 speakers and a subwoofer. With the different types of speakers available, you can dedicate a room for your home theater or incorporate it into any room. Choose your speakers to fit the room for size, color, performance and price. Speakers can be freestanding, in wall, or in the ceiling.

There is no set guide for speakers. For instance, your front speakers can be in the wall and your rear or surround speakers can be in the ceiling. Any combination is okay. Whatever it takes to make it look and sound right. Having your home pre-wired is best. Wires can be hidden, and the appearence of the room and the system is more presentable.

Using the proper wire is most important. A minimum of 16 gauge, 2-conductor, 65 strand wire is recommended. Remember, your speakers will only sound as good as the quality of the wire. Try to designate a particular room for your home theater. This will help with speaker selection.

Existing homes can be a challenge to wire, but are not impossible. Even with new construction we suggest running a chase to pull wire through for future use.
